Saturday at ATS26 sees the London premier of Matt Sharman and Dom Bush's film documenting their expedition to Kangchenjunga to recreate Vittorio Sella's iconic 1899 panoramic image of Everest.

Following the showing of A Thousand Words, there will be a chat with Matt and Dom about Vittorio and his career, the team's journey to the Himalayas, plus time for an audience Q&A.

Tickets are £3.00 with all proceeds donated to the Juniper Trust.

ABOUT THE FILM

Three adventurers set out to find a needle in the haystack of the Himalayas, guided and inspired by a 126-year old photograph taken by the godfather of Adventure Photography – Vittorio Sella.

A Thousand Words, sponsored by KE Adventure, experts in the Himalaya, explores a journey from the dusty archives of the Alpine Club to northern Italy and the darkroom of iconic Italian photographer Vittorio Sella – from the bustling streets of Kathmandu to the flanks of Kangchenjunga.

In tracing Sella’s journey over a century on, A Thousand Words questions the purpose of adventure and photography, exploring ways of seeing both old and new.
